It also produces fortified wines under the Malamado brand\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDue to the scarcity of water in the Mendoza region, Alberto Zuccardi, the winery’s founder, experimented with a new irrigation system and, wanting to prove its worth to his neighbours, he planted a vineyard in Maipu. Five years after that first plantation, Zuccardi broke ground on a winery in the same spot to vinify the grapes that his irrigation method had allowed him to grow. The experiment led to Zuccardi becoming one of the most prominent and prosperous wineries in Argentina.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTheir regional wines, \u003cem\u003eSerie A\u003c\/em\u003e, are varietal blends from select vineyards from the best plots in Mendoza. Each batch is harvested separately at different times to achieve elegance and excellence in the wine. The \u003cem\u003eSerie Q\u003c\/em\u003e has a focus on quality, hence the name. Their \u003cem\u003eZuccardi Q Tempranillo\u003c\/em\u003e is made from selected grape clusters using native yeasts. Fermentation is with delestage and pigeage, a traditional approach. The wine is aged in oak barrels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTheir \u003cem\u003ePoligonos Valle de Uco Cabernet Franc\u003c\/em\u003e comes from the eponymous valley in Mendoza, Argentina. This wine is produced with grapes grown at 3,600 ft above sea level, making it a true mountain wine.
