The local economic activity is mostly agriculture, and in particular, on the production of DOC wines such as Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino and Passerina, which are the backbone of \u003cstrong\u003eCantina Tollo\u003c\/strong\u003e‘s wines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe vineyards of \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCantina Tollo\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e extend over an area of more than 2.700 hectares, from the coastal hills to the slopes of the Maiella, in a typically Mediterranean climate, which is temperate with notable temperature fluctuations (both throughout the year due to the presence of the Maiella massif, as well as during the day) which give optimal conditions for the build up of aromatic compounds, and thus the production of high quality grapes. Their production focuses exclusively on native grape varieties traditionally used in the region. The vineyards are cultivated with the traditional method of pergolas.  Nevertheless, \u003cstrong\u003eCantina Tollo\u003c\/strong\u003e welcomes innovation both in the field and in the cellar.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Tollo aging facilities comprise large oak casks, tonneaux and barrels alongside vitrified cement tanks, nowadays considered the best for aging. Careful processing and vinification allow \u003cstrong\u003eCantina Tollo\u003c\/strong\u003e to produce quality wines at every price point.
